These work in UK
0:30 - Wasn't expecting that...turns out, the only Master lock he complements is the one he doesn't try to pick!
he is quite literally removing the entire core now, TOO MUCH POWER! SOMEONE STOP THIS MAN!
That’s crazy cause I’m Collin from Moorestown New Jersey and the two towns are right next to each other.
thats hilarious this would make such a funny prank
i read masterlock, i upvote...
LOL - fucking owned....
I've know of Best lock cylinders, their operating and control key scheme for rapidly re-keying locks, for long time probably mid to late '60's.
Remember Keymaker in The Matrix? That guy was the LPL's apprentice.
Mate that was fookin ridiculous.
Pronouncing magenta was even more difficult than opening the freaking lock. Kudos!
well, that was a rip-off
So many games used to say "you need the (color) key" and nothing actually had color coded keys...... except construction cores! (That is, Best branded ones if nothing else)
I love magenta
I think the phrase you're looking for is "Cheers then, thanks bro".
DID U MAKE THE KEY?!
I LIVE RIGHT NEXT TO MEDFORD 😱😱😱😱😱😱
how do you have the key???
Hope you sent it back to him with a decent core - nice video
Wait, he didn't open it with the operating key twice.. maybe it's a fluke!
LPL is really the guy who Masterlocks.
The one time he gives Master lock a compliment it's because the core and its pick resistance is irrelevant...
Pretty sneaky sis...
lockpicking lawyer wields the nuclear launch codes
I’m from Medford nj lol
can you send some pad lockes to me please 108 railway place willyamstown
Purple _and_ magenta? That seems ill-advised…
I found it really funny when he removed the core so easily. I was thinking, if you can't pick this core you can remove it and put in a core you can pick instead!
its seems this youtuber can..., paint
LPL, please explain to me HOW the control KEY DOES WHAT IT DOES? What is the locking mechanism that keeps the core IN the lock???? HOW does the control key disable it????
Totally separate shear line which actuates the control lug. The inside of the lock is cut out to accept the lug
I'm sitting here in my chair, thinking about what I just watched. LPL just used a key on a lock. But it was one that was sent to him by a random viewer, without they key, and LPL just happened to own ALL the possible keys for the lock. I'm now imagining a scenario where LPL here is in court defending someone and someone mention that it's impossible to pick a lock less than a set amount of time. LPL asks the Judge if he's allowed to show the jury that this statement is false, as he has the same lock, Judge allows it. Ten seconds later he's holding the opened lock in front of the judge explaining how he did it.
I think no where is safe because a safe has a lock and LPL has a way in. Creepy pasta.
As a locksmith I can say I'm glad he didn't give out the bitting for these, but at the same time most locksmiths either know this or could glean it from the pictures of the keys. That said I'm sure if you looked hard enough you could find all the info you're after online.
I have a set of those very keys on my work keys keyring!
1:37 and he still hasn't picked it
Trinity: “I need a download to hotwire a motorcycle.” LPL: *Present the key to her.
Colin must have spat out his coffee while hearing "It turns out that I have a key for this exact lock." lmao
I want to see LPL vs an Escape Room!
Master lock... the Crown Vic of locks...
Love that LPL publicly displays the cut of the operating key so it can be copied, but obscures the cut of the control key.
Well, we are so used to see LPL picking locks he collects so we forget he collects the keys too.
I had a nice day. I’m going to have a nice day tomorrow to prove it wasn’t a fluke
His mom: "STOP HOARDING ALL THOSE KEYS, THEY HAVE NO USE!!!!' LPL: My time has come...
like how he was sure to hide most of the control key bitting. Smart man!
I've been in commercial construction for about 12 years. I have 3 construction keys. At least one has worked in every facility I've ever set foot in.
We're back in business boys, we're back in business, e40 voice
While it is nice to have the proper keys, can this lock be picked?
Now I would like to see this picked with a proper core.
The Master Pro series padlocks are actually pretty solid, because they're REALLY solidly built and don't use Master's crappy cylinders. I actually have one on my front storage closet on the front porch of my condo, that takes any standard size KIK cylinder, so of course I threw in a Medico commercial keyway, with a KIK cylinder designed to be compatible for six pin Schlages, that I'd sub master-pinned to match my deadbolt, so my house key opens both, but the padlock key only opens the padlock.
So where does one get the operating and control keys for this lock?
LPL is just one of those speedrunners in games who go get the key before they even see the lock
LPL giving praise to masterlock? have i fallen into a parallel dimension?
Me: "So Masterlock, how good is this lock?" Masterlock: "This lock was featured in LPL, the video lasted longer than 2 minutes and he didn't pick it. Do I need to say anything else?"
A question comes to mind, how much difference does it make to pick a lock, that you are not familiar with, when you don't have an opportunity to check out the key beforehand?
🤯 Was not expecting that LMAO
This is one of the longest Masterlock videos you have.... and you used a key LMAO
"This is the LockOpeningLawyer..."
I'm pretty convinced that the keymaker from The Matrix is real - he lives in LPL's basement!
"These can be found in several other colors" “I have operating and control keys for all of them” If anyone would, it would be you.
LPL the kinda guy that comes with you to your house and when you said you forgot your keys he says “don’t worry I brought my own”
🤣🤣🤣 Didn't even need to pick the lock.
he just took the dam core out 😭😭
Because of course you do.
It looked like LPL was going to give Masterlock a pass on this one, but the roast came at the very end.
Thanks to Biden you're going to see a lot more construction companies go out of business
I guess you couldn't pick it then.
Those Best/SFIC cores also have what I call "Core Tools" which are like black barrels with a T grip on the end that can operate the empty lock body if there is no core installed. They usually ship with the handleset so that doors can be operated before a core is installed. There are 2 styles that I know of, a version with a metal blade on the end and a plastic version with holes that engage 2 pins inside the lock. Very helpful to keep on one's keychain.
Colin is a little miffed not to see it picked.
Master lock really pulled a smart move here, avoid the problem of weak cores by putting that responsibility on the user.
That's the reason for high praise here. The lock *body* is good in this one.
@LPL It would be interesting to see if you could pick a lock like this in such a way that you're able to both open the lock AND pull out the core, as with the control key. In my line of work, there are things that I'll do for my apprentices (or for the odd costomer, or favored contractor) merely as "an opportunity to demonstrate skill". I can't help but think that you missed just such an opportunity here. As entertaining as all of your videos are; equally, so too to dazzle with skill, as opposed to speed! :-) Perhaps this would seem a trivial task to you, but to a layman like me, I would watch with wide-eyed glee!
We're all gangsters until we hear: "I, of course, have the control key" outside your door.
Fascinating and color code is even more fascinating!! I wonder what the magenta color core represented.
LPL is sent a lock with no key, and not only does he have the key, but it's a Master Lock he actually compliments. Something's wrong, I can feel it.
He did it only once per key, so I'm calling it fluke.
He's the keymaker in the matrix!!
Wait... Is this a video featuring a Master lock that contains only compliments of their work?
This is the LockPickingLawyer, and today I'm going to just open a lock with the key
this iiiiiiis the SquattingTipsLawyer
Nice padlock But I have bags of green and orange keys, (colors are region specific, green is east coast us)
As soon as he said he had a key I though he's going to say all of them.. lol yup..
Isn't that cheating lpl? I mean, we wanted to see you opening it by some sort of your typical shenanigans, not use a key and that's it lol And you're giving a compliment to master lock? I must be having a nightmare!
You *are* handy.
Well, I was definitely not expecting this...
Reminds me of something that a rail flagger mentioned on a site recently. Generally if you buy locks in bulk, they tend to be keyed the same as every other lock from that location. So LOTOs and alot of locks used by big corporations (such as canadian national railway, in this case) are keyed exactly the same
LPL that's cheating Ha! Ha!
I am the gatekeeper. I am the key master.
woooooo Medford nj :D !
Have you ever thought of starting your own lock company?
A compliment for a Master Lock? This is unheard of.
Praise for a Master lock? Satan must be skating to work...
Was it just me or did the LPL really try to hide the master key profile on cam?
He only did it once. Definitely was a fluke.
Receiving a random lock and not even bothering with picking it because he happens to own the keys to it is kinda like the ultimate insult to Masterlock. It's like Dr. Hell sending a new robot to fight Mazinger and he just presses the giant "Off" button on its back.
whaaat he just used the key? isn't that illegal? hahaha
averting expectations is TIGHT. also... just... ..yeah just yeah
