  • A few commenters have already mentioned that I'd be up here at some point, and they were obviously right! Happy to answer any questions, no matter how tough they may be. And I'll do my best to stay on top of the comments, but it does get challenging so just ping me directly if you wouldn't mind. As always, thank you to LPL for a well done video and one where he pointed out an additional security feature that we had not though of! He mentions about how the core is rotated 90 degrees as compared to a typical puck and that this change drastically improves pick resistance for a standard SPP attack (not using his cool tool). Our first generation of this style of puck (one that can accept a variety of "key in knob" or "IC Core" cylinders) had the cylinder oriented left to right like normal. The problem was that the sleeve's width was so wide that it prevented the pucks from being used on standard puck hasps like the ones from Master. So we had to build our own versions of those hasps that had the "shrouds" spread a bit further apart to allow for the left to right sleeve. That sucked for lots of reasons. The top 2 were that we had to produce, distribute, sell a special style hasp. And secondly, if someone already had the Master style hasp on their application and simply wanted to upgrade their puck to a PACLOCK (that uses a KiK or other commercial cylinder), then that meant the user had to swap out one of the hasps as well. Yeah, that sucked. So we worked hard to re-engineer the solution. One of the realizations we had was that we could orient the sleeve up and down and, by doing so, now these cool commercial-cylinder pucks could work in standard hasps. That was probably six years ago now. Making these types of pucks work with our new UCS cores is just a happy byproduct of all of that work from years ago. In terms of the cone shape, a few years back we got calls from the "Air Vac" industry... the companies producing and maintaining the coin op machines used to fill your tires with air and radiators with water at gas stations. Next time you go, you'll see that many of those have a huge concrete block at the bottom that acts as the "safe" to house the money. And they mostly use puck locks like this one to protect their money. And those pucks tend to be recessed six or seven inches into the concrete block with a 8" or so PVC sleeve tunnel. There were attacks on other company's standard pucks where they'd drill the front like LPL mentioned. But the attackers had to use an extended length drill bit. Lots and lots of money was being stolen, and one of the manufacturers turned to PACLOCK saying, "please figure something out to stop this." Now that you see the answer, the answer seems pretty obvious. But I can tell you that no one else ever had this idea because, we hope, our patent on that design should publish very shortly. Anyhow, this cone shape has solved that problem for this industry. It's been a few years now and we have gotten zero reports of these cone pucks being drilled out. Those extended drill bits just don't stand a chance, and trying to get a punch in there to give the drill bit a starter position is just not doable. And LPL mentioned the pins themselves as being steel... yes, they are steel, but they are specifically stainless steel. And we did that upgrade to stainless pins for our UCS line of padlocks because they are meant for direct retail consumption (through Amazon, HD, etc.). I believe this is the first time ever that a retail-focused product is technically and provably better than what a typical locksmith would be selling from Master or others. Sorry for that marketing digression! Apparently our laser marking machine once again had a misfire as we were preparing this lock. For those who watched LPL's video about the skateboard we built for him and Braille, you'll see that I apologized for the same sort of impropriety created by our laser. Once again, "bad laser!!!" Apologize for any hurt feelings, we will be counseling the laser today.

    • You and your frickin laser need to get a frickin room

    • the bad guy no longer needs a drill.. he just needs the $30 lichi tool from LPL.. lol

    • @Moosenetic My sincere apologies...

    • Too many words

    • @Ramon Rommers Sloped armor baby.

  • "This is a really good lock, watch me open it in less than 3 minutes"

  • The healthy iris postmeiotically work because sled separately hug since a ratty philippines. glamorous, ossified prose

  • Basic construction skills. You drill perpendicular to the slope with a slightly larger bit until you get just the tip of the bit into the metal, then switch bits to the size you want and drill at whatever angle you need.

  • It isnt always the strongest locks, but the smartest.

  • bro, they legit wrote "master sucks" in their lock 😂😂

  • M a s t e r S U S

  • It would be simple to drill on after I run it over with my D9.

  • That AM5 tool makes lockpicking look like videogame lockpicking

  • That master sux tho

  • Why not make a lock with rounded edges? so that it would not be possible to make efforts to turn, + integrate a magnet into the key that would raise or lower the hidden pin, well, or add a spectrum analyzer there, and insert a lens into the key that would refract light by emitting the desired wavelength .. Is it really so difficult to make a lock that will not be hacked? Lol .. Everyone has cnc machines, you can do something that will take hours to break in, in any case, any NON-STANDARD mechanism cannot be broken, not knowing how it works, that if the key inside the lock is unfolded into two parts, or to open which you need to make a certain amount turns in different directions .. Yes, it is difficult, but you will not be hacked ..

  • Last night, i robbed a mansion at Canada and i picked the lock and learned how to pick it thanks to lawyer😁thankyou🥴

  • Just file the top of the cone off, then drill it.

  • So this is where to get tools to be a professional thief. Nice 👍.

  • He is telling people not to pick locks but supplying them with the tools needed to pick locks!! :)

    • I don't think he told us not to

  • I don't understand this, the way you pick the lock would not have been possible if it was mounted flat. What am I missing?

  • i just cant get over how u say "key"

  • Wow, he's using actual lock picking tools in this one.

  • That grid explained more about the process of picking a lock than any video.

  • White house Panic room: Relax Mr President this is the safest room in the world! LPL: Number one is binding... Number two is... ah there we go

  • How do you find time to pick all these locks? Do you still practice law?

  • Wow.. I love that tool!!

  • 477 master lock employees disliked the video.

  • The locksmith vs lockpick

  • That is such a cool lockpick

  • Dann haut man zum ansetzen ordentlich einen mit nem "Körner" drauf......dann findet auch der gute scharfe Bohrer n Anfang.

  • great video

  • why would you sell these tools it could end up with someone with more ill intensions.

  • You could use a thing called a punch that makes a rest for a drill bit so it doesn't slip

  • T 5:33 a fair use of the word “probably”😅

  • After this video I finally found your flaw. If don't tell you what lock to pick you literally need a truckload of stuff to potentially open it...

  • Cone=small surface area that is easily cut flat with a grinding wheel before switching the 18v battery from the grinder to the drill and drilling a lock. Or just hit the cone with a centerdrill for 5 seconds prior to drilling.

  • 🏳️‍🌈

  • the keyhole on top is pretty nice. maybe the golden "key" to a good lock is to cover the space above the keyhole by a little metalroof or so. no space for picklocking, no opening !?

  • that Easter egg is awesome.

  • Now that's a good lock.

  • So long as you know how to drill well and you use a sharp drill bit it would still not take much to drill it but it would stop most people who just drill out locks

  • We use the same lock but what its locks to wouldnt let you even put the tool in, its barely big enough to fit a few fingers and the key

  • Very nice tool, I'm gonna have to get one of those

  • This makes me want to become a burger.....!!!

  • There’s one lock you won’t be able to unlock. That’s the lock to my heart.

  • I don't feel the design provides any resistance to drilling. If you have a small phillips screw driver and a small hammer all you would have to do is punch a small dot into the casing and a drill bit will start to bite easily

  • Paclock: Mastersux Me: Ahh a brand of culture and my new favourite haha

  • Dude, that is definitely a nice lock. Aesthetic and actually really safe.

  • At this point we can give LPL a block of tungsten and he will unlock it in less then 2 seconds

  • A skilled tool hand knows how to drill a straight hole on an angles surface.

  • Haha paclock is savage

  • So this man tells me how to pick a lock in basically 20 seconds with his magical tool which is already out of stock, which means there are a lot of people runnin around trying to learn how to pick locks.... I am very concerned about that

  • Its always "i have a specialised Tool for that"... but what if you dont? What if you just have the "starter kit" from Amazon? There wont always be a specialised kit for every lock. So what do you do when you just have the standard equipment?

  • As a machinist that just got out of school I know drilling can be done using a punch and hammer.

    • What if it's recessed 6 inches in a concrete block with a pvc sleeve though? Keep in mind. No lock can keep an expert out. This is a decent defense against your garden variety burglars. People with the knowledge/ skills to bypass said lock aren't worried about a couple hundred bucks in coins and small bills that the lock protects. In this case, a well done lock can at least keep the truly desperates away.

  • Why would you be selling a tool to pick locks

  • why is the 6th driver pin shorter than the rest?

  • This guy could brake into eny place probably

  • Pucks are usually mounted in such a way the pick tool he used would never fit in there On shipping containers theres barely room for the key most of the time

  • Who would thought that 'respectful company' could troll another one in so interesting way ;p

    • Ah, it's just a malfunctioning laser...

  • Was your picking demonstration keeping the lock in the same orientation as a proper installation? I’m wondering if gravity might make it more difficult based on orientation of the lock...

  • 1:07 "picking exceptionally difficult", picked in 2 mintues dead 😂

  • 'A specialised tool'? Can't you just bend the lock pick and try that way?

  • Mastersux!

  • This is the guy who can train your character in the lock-picking Skill In elder scrolls after you’ve already maxed it out lol

  • A mighty coperfield in locks! :D

  • "Mastersux" LOOOL

  • That little tool is so cool. I need to get myself one

  • LPL is easily one of the best ILaward channels out there

  • Wait.. so he’s training an army of theives???

  • Imagine lockpicking lawyer commiting war crimes but noone can lock him up and he just lock picks their hearts. Left ventricule binding...

  • Bruh have these people heard of a center punch?

  • Mastersux 😂😂😂

  • MASTERSUX 🤣. Wonder if the designer had things stolen due to a master lock

  • Hey there, I’m a locksmith in Phoenix az , was hoping I could get some info on your tool you used to in this video .

  • I miss the rage

  • Im curious if he was able to reassemble it after discovering the springs had various tensions as they are typically dumped out with disregard to positioning.

  • Grind the point off and drill the center

  • Nice he help Firms And make money with it same time Wow

  • Summary: PacLock’s pointy puck-lock protects playful petty peer posturing; Picked perfectly per precedent.

  • When will the lockpick tools you spoke of be on covertinstruments.com? I've looked and can't seem to find them.

  • So these tools, you sell, do thieves that are hopeless I'm guessing buy them hoping for the best? 3 million subs and you're a lawyer, I'm not worth your time, I don't lock my front door to discourage thievery tbqh so I'm not looking for a fight from you or you 3 million strong army I really am nothing, just innocently interested in why people would purchase such tools, it is fun to mess around if that is the reason. I hope no one comes at me with 'why would you need a firearm' because sadly I come from a country where you can own a firearm after jumping through many many hoops but you cannot defend yourself with one unless they come at you with an semi automatic and all you have is a straight pull rifle and it's life and death and that you can prove they are a deadshot and you came back from the dead to defend yourself. I exaggerate but its true sadly. I got into joking territory with the last bit but sadly its like 85% true. Great channel, sadly no one puts really hard to pick locks on my booze cabinet so take with grain of salt. Thanks in advance.

    • Not sure what you're saying thanks in advance for. Was there a question in that incoherent rambling that I missed?

  • 1 million views over lock picking.... Wow, how much you want to bet video games is probably what brought people to these videos. lol.

  • The yellow receipt uniformly burn because friend enthrallingly smell till a long slave. jazzy, lyrical employee

  • an anti physical drill feature ;), doesn't help against electrical drilling, but thats not really a concern yet

  • "... that probably helps with a pick resistance." Wym "probably", you just picked it,did it help or did it not? XD I guess it becomes less and less noticeable as the skill level of a picker gets higher

  • I feel like a lock like this is about the limit of what a lock can do for security. At this point, an attacker is going to be looking to bypass the lock entirely instead of defeating it directly. Door latch, door hinges, windows, etc.

  • LPL: Got a click out of 4 Ultra resistant lock : Yamete LPL-san !

  • What about using an electronic pick

  • it is amazing how tools were made to make the locks and tools were made to unlock the locks and tools are used to make the keys. tools are amazing

  • Well done by the company actually making a great lock. Half the time he's like "here's how to pick this lock with a dorito," and while hilarious it makes me worry about things I might need to actually keep someone else locked out of.

  • It is easy to drill if you file or punch (or even just bang with a blunt object) a starting point. But that wouldn't be sexy, nor super-spy.

  • That's a pretty neat tool

  • Good video

  • The am5 is a really great visual tool. I’ve watched a lot of vids but that was the best representation of what you where saying and doing.

  • pluging his mearch

  • Maastersux

  • The raspy cloudy plausibly bounce because zone commercially grease including a unbiased hacksaw. oceanic, innate c-clamp

  • So basically i just need to grind a flat before i drill.

  • of course he has a specialized tool, haha. Well done!

  • Easily drilled. Just take a file or a grinder and put a flat where you need to drill.

  • What would a lock like this be used for?

  • Gotta respect the balls it took to willingly send a lock to LPL.
